Artist's Description

Her hair is adorned with symbolic flora: the Ponga (Tree Fern) and its unfurling Koru frond representing new life and growth; Harakeke (Flax), known for connection and whānau; and the delicate bloom of the Mānuka flower, known for its resilience and healing properties.

She wears a cloak inspired by the Korowai, the traditional Māori cloak, with a collar lined in Toetoe grasses — a tribute to both grace and grounding.

Resting near her heart is a Taonga: a Pounamu pendant shaped in the form of a Manaia, the guardian spirit said to offer protection and guidance to those who wear it.This meaningful piece has been created in support of Women’s Refuge Aotearoa. (Pictured: Custom Size: A1)
