01Introduction
These terms and conditions apply to Willa Black Prints (the seller) and you (the buyer). They govern your use of this website and the contract formed between us when you place an order. By using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Willa Black Prints may update this website, including these terms, at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are made means you accept the updated terms.
Placing an order through this website, or by any other method, is an offer by you to buy in accordance with these terms. Our acceptance occurs, and the contract is formed, when your order is dispatched. Any variation to these terms must be agreed in writing by Willa Black Prints. This contract is governed by New Zealand law.
02Pricing
All pricing is checked at the time of publishing but is subject to change without notice. All prices are listed in New Zealand dollars (NZD).
For international card payments, the amount charged to your account may differ slightly from the advertised price due to exchange rate fluctuations at the time your payment is processed. Currency conversion is handled by your card provider, not Willa Black Prints.
03Product Information
We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, images, and pricing are accurate. Because every print is produced to order, colours may vary slightly between screens and the final printed piece - this is a normal characteristic of print production, not a fault.
We reserve the right to correct pricing or product descriptions at any time, and to adjust a charged price if an error is identified, in which case we will contact you before proceeding.
If an item you receive does not match its description in a material way, please contact us immediately at info@willablack.com so we can resolve this - see Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 below.
04Custom & Made-to-Order Goods
Every print sold by Willa Black Prints is produced to order specifically for you. Framed prints are custom cut, mounted, and assembled to your selected size and frame colour at the time of your order. Nothing is held as pre-made stock.
Because of this, we are unable to offer change-of-mind refunds or exchanges once an order has entered production. This includes situations such as deciding on a different size, colour, frame, or simply changing your mind after seeing the piece in your home.
To help you choose with confidence before your custom print or frame is made, we strongly recommend using our Upload a Room tool, or ordering a sample print, before placing a full order. This is the best way to avoid disappointment with size, colour, and how a piece will sit in your space.
This section does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 if a product is faulty, damaged, or significantly different from its description - see Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Returns, Refunds & Exchanges below.
05Try Before You Buy
We offer two tools to help you choose the right print, size, and finish before committing to a custom order:
- Upload a Room - upload a photo of your wall and we will digitally place your chosen print in your actual space, so you can see scale and placement before ordering.
- Sample Prints - order a smaller sample print to check colour and finish in person before committing to a larger or framed piece.
We recommend using one or both of these options for any first-time purchase, particularly for larger or framed pieces.
06Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
If goods are purchased for business purposes, the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 are excluded in relation to those goods, to the extent permitted by law.
If goods are purchased for personal, domestic, or household use, nothing in these terms limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. This means that if a print or frame is faulty, not of acceptable quality, or significantly different from how it was described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as set out by the Act, regardless of our standard policy on change-of-mind returns described above.
07Delivery
We reserve the right to dispatch your order in one delivery or in installments. You may cancel any installment that has failed to be delivered, but cannot cancel installments already delivered. Estimated delivery times are provided as a guide only and are not contractually binding.
For international orders, you are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or related charges applied by your country's customs authority.
08Property & Risk
Risk in the goods, including responsibility for insurance, passes to you once the goods are delivered to you or to the courier on your behalf.
09Shortages of Goods
In the unlikely event that an item you have ordered cannot be supplied, you will be entitled to a full refund for that item.
10Damage or Loss in Transit
All orders are checked for quality and packed carefully before leaving our studio. Most orders arrive within 10 working days; please let us know if your order has not arrived within 12 working days.
Please check your order within 2 business days of receiving it. If there is any damage or fault, photograph both the item and the packaging, and email the details to info@willablack.com. We will arrange a refund or store credit for the affected item, including any associated shipping costs. Claims made after 2 business days will be considered at our discretion.
11Liability
You are responsible for ensuring that the product you order is suitable for your intended purpose - our sizing chart and Upload a Room tool are provided to help with this.
Willa Black Prints' liability under this contract is limited to the entity that purchased the product. Rights under this contract are not transferable without our prior written consent.
12Errors & Omissions
We may correct any errors or omissions in advertising, quotes, invoices, or order confirmations at any time. If an error materially affects the product you ordered, we will notify you and offer a refund or credit.
13Intellectual Property
All artwork, designs, photography, and written content on this website are the original work of Willa Black Prints and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute any content from this website, electronically or in hard copy, without our prior written consent.
14Privacy & Security
We collect personal information solely to fulfil your order and process payment - including your name, billing and shipping address, phone number, and email address. We do not sell or share your information with third parties.
Card details are processed securely and are never stored or disclosed by us. From time to time we may send product updates or offers by email; you can opt out of this at any time.
15Payment Details
For all electronic payments, your statement will display the name Willa Black Prints.
16Payment & Debt Recovery
Full payment is required before any order is dispatched.
If a payment is dishonoured, declined, or otherwise unavailable to us, we reserve the right to pursue recovery through a debt collection agency, with reasonable collection costs - including legal fees - payable by you.
We may transfer an outstanding debt to a third party to assist in its recovery. In the event of receivership, business closure, or non-payment, you agree to remain personally liable for any outstanding amount owed.
17Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
Change of mind
Because every print and frame is custom made to order, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind - including changes to size, colour, or frame choice made after production has begun. We encourage all buyers to use our Upload a Room tool or order a sample print before purchasing to avoid disappointment.
At our discretion, we may consider a refund for unframed, print-only orders returned unused and in original condition within 14 days of delivery, subject to a 5% restocking fee to cover payment processing and handling costs. This is offered as a goodwill gesture and is not guaranteed in every case. Framed and custom-sized orders are not eligible for change-of-mind refund once production has begun, given the bespoke nature of framing.
Faulty, damaged, or incorrect orders
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or significantly different from its description, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 - this may include a repair, replacement, or full refund, and is not affected by the change-of-mind policy above. Please see Damage or Loss in Transit for how to report this.
To request a remedy, email info@willablack.com with your order number and photos of the issue. We will respond within 3 business days to confirm the next steps. Where a return is required, items should be sent to our Auckland, New Zealand studio; return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the buyer, while costs relating to faulty or incorrect items are covered by us.
Willa Black Prints is a New Zealand art print business based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa. All prints and frames are produced to order. Buyers can preview prints in their space using the Upload a Room tool or by ordering a sample print before purchasing.
